Vask Titan

One of the few remaining titans of Anista, the Vask Titan with it's unmeasurable size is big enough to swallow whole their only prey, the Tarakii. Their mouth, much like the abiiss, can open as wide as it needs to to consume it's prey.

The Vask is adapted to blend in with the sand dunes around it, the black stripe down it's back is meant to portray water, in hopes that the Tarakii will confuse it as such and get close enough for the vask to easily snatch them up and inject it's venom. The Vask will burrow deep deep into the sand for several months throughout the year. They wait until the winter months to rise from the sand and sit just beneath the surface, their backs just barely showing in order to set their trap. Then, during the Tarakii's migration, their herd will stumble near the vask mine field before them, and will find themselves in the jaws of this beast.

The Tarakii may try to fight back, kick, bite and scream, however, this doesn't have much effect on the Vask. If they can kick it's head, it will scurry away, and has a possibility to be knocked out. However, the Vask tends to hold it's head high off the ground when in a face off with the Tarakii, well aware of the force behind their kicks.

The red spots on each side of the Vask's open mouth is a distraction, to keep the Tarakii from biting or kicking the head, given it's at a more vulnerable state. Some have concluded the colors are also a way to make the Tarakii cower away, and some have concluded it may be hypnotic. These titans are quite a mystery, but they certainly are a sight to see .

The Vask is unable to be tamed as it has no eyes, and no external ears. As far as it's concerned, kilds and smaller prey are non existant. but a insect on it's scales that it could care less about. Though they pay no mind to kilds, they are unaware and unstoppable from the prey they are aware of, the Takarii. It is well known to stay away from the Tarakii when they migrate into vest, or you may be an accidental snack to the Vask, or even to the Takarri if they did not successfully stock up on food before their trip.

Kilds can also fall into sink holes the Vask create if they are not quick when sand starts falling into crevices as the beast moves just beneath it. This is an additional reason why many Vestinans prefer to mount with the Skii'r, because of it's quick witty behavior, it is much safer to ride them across the dunes.
